BIOGRAPHY
I am an Italian audiologist/musician, moved to Melbourne in 2009. I play bass, double bass and keyboards, and have experience enhancing the stage performance with the integration of onscreen multimedia / videography. Although probably blues/funk/pop are my favourites, I enjoy all quality music and styles.

Playing the organ in church as a teenager is where my musical passion started. But the bass player was always where my fascination lay: the mysterious guy almost hidden away near the drummer. His elegant, streamlined guitar provoked a curiosity in the focus on technical substance, quietly connecting rhythm and melody with the drummer from up the back. Eventually, bass became my instrument.

“Play as much as possible, with as many different people as possible” was sage advice from more than one music teacher growing up. I paid my dues in bands, practicing and taking lessons at every opportunity. I have been lucky enough to play through the late ‘80s in Europe: golden era, when musicians were well regarded and cherished by audiences. It was routine playing all weekends, in 2,000/3,000 size venues. A time of no smartphones; a time of captivated audiences taking in the energy from the stage. I was in the right place at the right time.

I enjoyed the mid ’90s working with dance companies, arranging music for shows like Jesus Christ Superstar, Hair, Mamma Mia etc. My background as a keyboardist proved invaluable here. More importantly, I started managing the complexity of the live stage environment with many moving parts. Last but not least, I started to play double bass too, as in some shows it is an indispensable instrument.
Australia has been generous with me. I had the privilege of sharing the stage with artists like Jimi Hocking, Joe Ruberto, Joe Piastrino, Adrian Scott (Air Supply, The Little River Band, Dragon, Kylie Minogue) and Lachlan Davidson (Sax - Chief Arranger for all fifteen seasons of Channel 7’s Dancing with the Stars).

I am perfectly aware that music won’t make me rich. Having a stable and flexible job, I am more interested in quality projects, with people who are motivated in producing great music, rather than discussing if the pub gives us free drinks during a gig... ;-)
